Program Goal:
To provide filmmakers, actors, and production crew with a candid, open, review of their film project with the objective that direct and immediate responses add insight for each film’s production team members they may consider and possibly improve their skills going forward.

How it Works:
Short films are submitted for review in an open forum. Selected films will be screened in front of a live audience. A panel of people in film moderates an interactive conversation with the audience and people in the film’s production team immediately following each screening. Formatting to editing to directing, all topics are open for review.

Tracy Frenkel

Tracy Frenkel

With a drive to create quality content for the entertainment, film, tv, and music video industry, Tracy Frenkel has garnered an extensive library of experience, and knowledge, while being able to do what he loves.
Tracy earned a BFA in Theater and minor in Radio/TV Communications (Univ of Central Florida) 1982.
He has worked as a film/tv/theatrical industry professional since 1982 and is currently employed as a producer/director/casting director/locations manager/actor-improvisor/acting coach.
 Some of Tracy’s accomplishments include being a master of ceremonies for Metacorp Marketing group and a stand-up comic 1982-1983, co-Owner/operator of Railway Video Prods (Winter Park, Fl) 1983-1985, a Second City Training Center graduate student and Second City employee (Chicago, Ill) 1986-1989, and co owner/operator of Focus Solutions Video Prods (Chicago, Ill) 1987-1989.
He also portrayed the role of a “hitman” in David Mamet’s feature film, THINGS CHANGE (directed by David Mamet, Chicago, Ill) 1988 and was cast in various roles with Nickelodeon Studios, including WELCOME FRESHMEN, KEENAN and KEL, NOAH KNOWS BEST, SLIME TIME LIVE  (Orlando, Fl) 1991-1998 as well as also being cast in HBO’s EARTH TO THE MOON as Rocco Petrone (Dir, David Frankel) 1998.
Tracy was hired as the producer/casting director for the feature film, DEADLY SPECIES 2002, associate producer/casting director for the feature films: LOS BRAVOS and EXTREME FORCE 2001, supervising producer/casting director/1st AD for the feature film titled THE BROS 2007, co producer/casting director for the feature film SURVIVAL’S END 2018.
Tracy participates on the boards of several Florida based film festivals and coordinates/moderates the professional film makers panels.
He is a member of SAG AFTRA, WIFT, and Film Florida.

Tracy’s motto is: “Keep it light, do it right, and laugh often”.

TL Westgate

TL Westgate graduated from Florida State University and has worked in the video production and film industry for over 30 years. He’s won several industry awards (Emmy, Telly, Marcom) and at film festivals. His films have played in over 600 festivals around the world. He currently teaches at the Los Angeles Film School.

Marco Di George

Marco’s continued love for teaching and the arts has led him to the various endeavors he is involved with today, including being an award winning actor and director, co-Founder and acclaimed Teacher at Truthful Acting Studios, Adjunct Professor with the UCF Film Program, Producer for 12 years at Doctrine Creative, podcast host of Truthful Talk, and one of the founding members and Artistic Director of Theater On The Edge, a live Cinematic Theater company.
Marco is also a very proud father of five, and enjoys working side-by-side with his amazing wife, Samantha, as they continue to push the boundaries with cinematic design and performance.

Jason D. Gregory

Jason Gregory

Jason D. Gregory is a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award recipient. He participated in stints as a consulting producer on Netflix’s Buried by the Bernards and as president of the Orlando Urban Film Festival. Currently, he serves as the Interim Director of Programming for the Bronze Lens Film Festival. Jason teaches screenwriting at the University of Central Florida. He is dedicated to nurturing new talent, mainly through the Side Hustle Screenwriter Lab, which he founded. Jason also co-hosts the YouTube podcast Hollerin’ at the Screen, offering candid reviews of Black film and TV.

Gergroy Mohn

Gregory Mohn

Gregory Mohn has been a film maker in the Central Florida area since 2012 and has worked on well over 100 short films and features, most often as cinematographer or sound recordist. He also writes and directs and has won over a dozen awards from the OIF challenges over the last seven years participating with the group. Gregory is always happy to offer his opinions and help to anyone looking to improve their script writing or film making endeavors.

This is a pilot program for filmmakers, actors, writers, editors and film crew. An arena for filmmakers, actors and crew who wish to receive genuine feedback on their execution. Be it directing, performance as an actor, editor, etc.
This new program was created with the intent of providing direct feedback, in keeping with the OIF spirit of doing what we can to improve participants’ skills.
After each film is shown, there will be a revolving panel made up of of people in the film industry, as well as active veteran OIF members moderating an interactive Q&A, encouraging audience participation. We’ve always said the audience is the best judge. This program is for those that appreciate direct and honest critique so they can improve their skills.

If you are willing to have your film and its parts commented on in an open forum, with the purpose of seeking improvement, here are more details:

  • Selected films (3-5 films per session), are screened in front of a live audience.
  • The objective of this forum is to arm participants with insight from others, with a concentration of direct feedback coming from the audience in the theater.
  • A revolving panel of people with experience in the film industry will moderate the event.
  • The panel will engage with the audience to gauge the pros and cons of various aspects of the film as they are brought up.
  • Film production participants will have the chance to engage directly and receive open, candid, and direct feedback on their performance.
  • Currently, There are no submission fees for OIF members
  • No Admission Fees (Limited seating, registration required)

— This is a pilot program. If your film is not selected for the current round, it may be kept for consideration at a later screening.
— The maximum run-time of the film is 15 minutes.
— The work does not have to be an OIF-screened film. It may be sourced from outside the group’s film library.
